  • After the official launch of Windows 7, is already talking about its successor, Windows 8, as they have issued several slides which is the roadmap of future releases by the Windows Server team. A timetable for the development of Windows is doing to assume that the next version of OS will be launched within three years.

Some scholars of the subject indicate that Microsoft will likely develop a kernel (core system) entirely new to Windows 8 , but otherwise provides little information about new functions and features.

Microsoft has decided to try to spend no more than three years between releases of operating systems, as this has made the corporation has had problems due to the large time difference between Windows XP and Windows Vista.

This new operating system will be a "major release", which would be a completely new version, unlike Windows 7 which was based on Windows Vista and improved significantly.

However, it also can be a problem, since they have only three years to a new operating system without the help of a previous OS on which to build.
